We found a pretty good deal on the internet for this hotel, and it far exceeded my expectations. The hotel staff were excellent, very friendly and helpful, and the room itself was very nice as well.
I would recommend this hotel. It is quite conveniently located near South Shanxi Rd. Metro Station.
It has some good restaurants attached as well.

Very professional staff and outstanding concierge service. The restaurants in the hotel were also excellent, I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Shanghai for any amount of time.
Unique Quality: The hotel is located near many high fashion boutiques and good shopping is only 2 -3 minutes walking time from the hotel.

I arrived late in town and had a taxi take me "anywhere I can use the internet" and here is where I ended up. My fault for not speaking the language.
It is rated a five star hotel. The room was comfortable and well supplied with a set up for Internet access for your portable laptop in the room. Just remember that all of China is on 220 so you need to find an adapter to take it diwn ti 110. Bring it with you, no noe will have one.
I stayed in the Cathay building, one of three on the grounds. The staff was very accomodating, from concierge to room service, and the hotel had an extremely attrctive presence. It is in Puxi and within walking distance of fine dining and a lot of city sights. Don't have the number, but you can follow the trail on this one fairly easily.
Unique Quality: Great views, grounds and location. A room was about 720 Yuan for a single with a full size bed and comfortable matress, well stocked mini-bar and snack bar, local phone and clean, western style bathroom and a safe in the room to lock up your cash and passport.

I love, love, LOVE this room.
The carpet didn't smell funny. The bed was HUGE and comfortable. The pillows were a bit too soft for my taste. The sheets were nice and white. The TV is hidden in this huge armoir, which I love. It also contains the minibar and fridge.
I love the bathroom! It has a separate shower stall and bathtub. The complimentary amenities were nice. They are very generous with it.
The also provide an in-room safe, an umbrella, an iron and board and a hair dryer.
I love their breakfast buffet. It's a nice spread and they have a good way of keeping food warm. They serve various kinds of bread and pastries, fruits, yoghurt, 4 kinds of juice, various kinds of cereal and a breakfast spread that changes day by day. They also serve a traditional Chinese breakfast together with your American.
Unique Quality: The Cathay Garden rooms have a very relaxing feel. The best part, though, is that you're in the heart of the shopping and entertainment district. You're only 5 minutes from the shopping strip, and about 10-15 minute walk from the Xian Yang Market (the fakes market). There are many restaurants to choose from, including the Tandoor Indian restaurant within the hotel complex.
If you wish to take the subway, it's right across the street. You're right on the tourist walking route. It's the best place for both business and leisure.

There are more than a dozen of 5 star hotels in Shanghai and hundreds of 3-4 star hotels. Price varies up to different hotel.
JinJiang Hotel, which I think is one of the best hotels in Shanghai, has its classic architecture, comfortable furnishings and traditional Chinese hospitality.
The stay was part of the package holiday in China and only lasted 3 nights but:
- it is a really nice hotel
- modern rooms
- try to ask for a higher floor ( from 15 - 20 floor) - the view will be magnificent
- rooms equipped with cooling/heating mineral water device
- very comfortable beds
- window in the bathroom
- slightly disappointing breakfast as it looks they are not sure whether to go for European or Chinese and finally there is not a big choice at all... PLUSES:
- elegant rooms
- central location
- hot/cold water device in the room
- good value for money

I have been booked in Jinjinag tower hotel but some of my friends stay in Guang dong hotel i need to know distance between thats 2 hotel. and can i travel between them by taxi lesss than 15 min or not ?
or u suggest me to change my hotel

Definitely impossible to travel between the two by taxi within 15 mins.
The distance between them is >11 km. I usually travel a similar route and it usually takes about 40 mins depending on traffic conditions.
Your hotel location is indefinitely better than theirs so I would suggest that THEY change hotels, not you!

but guang dong hotel is 85$ per night
Jinjiang tower is about 150$ per night
but they suggest me to go to Crowne plaza fudan

It's your money and your trip, so it's your choice. Personally I'd rather sacrifice some luxury and stay at a cheaper hotel in downtown. Unless you have stuff to do at Fudan or Tongji University I hardly think it's worthwhile staying at Guangdong Hotel or Crowne Plaza Fudan as it's too far from the sights.
