Get up early one morning( 7-8 AM) and head to the closest park. Groups of senior citizens gather to do Tai-Chi, Aerobics, Ballroom Dancing, swordplay and do numerous variation of exercises to mention. Definitely a must see!
Authentic Shanghainese!
by boolateh about Xin Ji Shi / Zin Tian Di Restaurant
The ambiance is perfect, truly Shanghai. Even my Shanghainese friend swears that this is still the best local place to eat, at a great location - Xin Tian Di! The Grandmother's Pork is a must have, it is slowly cooked, very tender, super tasty, and truly a taste of Shanghai. A gastronomic feast! We also have the bamboo shoots vegetable dish, and the wonderful dragon tea, remarkable!
Huxinting Tea House
by solopes
It's hard to decide which one of the marvelous old houses in the historic center is... the best.
Proud of their old style, glowing in their well maintained colours, all the buildings in the quarter are superb. But, in the middle of a lake, the tea house and its bridges deserve a special look and reference.
Shanghai Club
by Willettsworld
The Shanghai Club (No.2, The Bund), built in 1910, was the principal social club for British nationals in Shanghai. The club was the most exclusive club in Shanghai during the heyday of the 1920s and 1930s with a membership fee of $125 and monthly dues of $9. The second-floor was famous for the "Long Bar." This was an unpolished mahogany, L-shaped bar that measured 110.7 feet by 39 feet. On one side of the bar was a smoking room and library, while on the other side was a billiards room. It was famous for being the world's longest bar at one time.
