Nanjing Road question

by TheGeneral

I am trying to determine the distance from the Bund to Peoples Park on Nanjing Road. If you walked it, and didn't stop or shop, how long would it take? 30 minutes? 2 hours? Is it walking distance? Thank you.

it is about 3 kilometers from the Bund to the Peoples park. So you can measure how long do you need by wilk for a 3 kilometers. Good luck.

Because of Shanghai Expo, there are millions of tourists in the Nanjing Road. I suggest you can waling the Banijing Raod at night.

I second these comments. The distance may only be about 3.5km but keep in mind you have to cross a couple of roads and navigate throngs of people.

It is usually less than an hour, but longer if you stop at any of the stores along the way. I have walked this route many times, but never without stopping to look at something. And, 3.5 Km sounds about right. You can also take the subway from Nanjing to Peoples park. Taxis are difficult to find, because it is a walking street and the few taxis available are on some of the side streets.

Thank you to everyone for your responses. I have just booked my hotel now that I understand the walking distance.

Depends on your walking speed as well. I'd say something like 30 mins at the fastest I could usually make it.

Travel Tips for Shanghai

Duolun Lu

Pleasant street, real off the beaten path, where you spend some time just walking or visiting handicraft shops and small art galleries among some cafes.

There is also a Catholic church, which is the first catholic church built in Chinese-style in Shanghai.

SUBWAY - The subway system is...

by Chris_Dahlia

SUBWAY - The subway system is getting better and better nowadays in Shanghai. There are three lines - Line 1, Line 2 and Pearl line. With these three lines, you can go to almost every important place in Shanghai. Shanghai Station Stop is the transfer stop for Line 1 and Pearl line. And People's Square is the transfer for Line 2 and Line 1. The ticket usually costs 1 - 4 yuan/each. Please remember to keep your ticket (either a paper ticket or a card ticket) until you go out of the subway station because they check ticket when you get out.

Take a break

by cpm440vee

When the Bazaar becomes too hectic and crowded for you, take a break. Tucked away in the corner of Yu Yuan Bazaar lies the Yu Yuan Gardens. Have a stroll, enjoy the scenery and take some photos. Cost was 30 Yuan back in 2007.

Bund Sightseeing tunnel (chi: ~{MbL29[9bKm5@~})

by sunnywong

The sightseeing tunnel at the Bund will be built between the Bund at Nanjing Road, East, and the Oriental Pearl TV Tower in Pudong, with a total length of 646.70 m. It is the first passenger tunnel in China. Tourists may take the escalators at the entrance and the exit. In the tunnel, passengers will take a automatic, no-driver, cable-drawn, closed car for the ride in 2.5-5 minutes.
