This is DaXiJie 'Great World' Theatre, the first entertainment venue built in Shanghai. It used to be the hang-out place for the posh Shanghai sector as a nightly wine women and song revue with lavish entertainment. A century ago when Shanghai was populated with foreigners in the Concession Areas, plus rich merchants arriving from the sea ports, there was bustling night life for those big spenders and tycoons.
