Has anyone used travelchinaguide.com to book a hotel? My only concern is they are asking me for my CC information to be fax to them and for security reasons I have yet fax the information to them.

I use other Chinese sites which don't require credit card information for a booking. Which hotel are you trying to book?

Well my parent's friends in Shanghai found the Post and Telecommunication Hotel which I saw the pictures and not to found about.
Here are couple hotels on china travel guide which are good:
Shanghai Harbour Hotel The Bund/People's Square CNY 268/ USD 34
Motel 268, Shanghai Jin An District CNY 258/ USD 33
Any good recommendation for hotels or sites? I tried some of the sites but won't let me book for my 2.5 week stay.

for 2.5 week of stay look for a service apartment instead, it is much cheaper and you do not have to eat out all the time and they also have washing machines in most rooms. I have faxed my CC info to TC before for several hotels with no problem but do agree with you it is not the bext way. Try AsiaRooms.com they have most hotels as TC
