Jing Mao Tower
This is NO.1 Building of Shanghai and China.
Personally, I agree the skyscraper means nothing except a high building, but I'm still happy with this NO.1 of China could be in Shanghai.

Does anyone know of a computer store near the Baoshan district? My laptop crashed (I think the hard drive bit the dust) and I wanted to get a USB hard drive to use with my work laptop.
Thanks.
I recommend you can checkout this site:

They will deliver to you next day if you are in Shanghai.
You'll pay more than the price of the drive for international delivery of a drive that was probably made in Singapore or Malaysia. I don't know the Baoshan district very well but I am sure there will be a computer market near Shanghai International Studies University. Just go to the campus and ask some of the students who are carrying a laptop case over their shoulder.

Paulaner Brauhaus
Paulaner Brauhaus has three floors, with the upper two being galleries where you can look down onto the stage where a Phillippine band is performing. There is a small dance floor. The beer is brewed in traditional German style by a German brewmaster. It also serves German food and for a snack you should try the Bretzel.
Picture from 1986. At the time, this was a State-run restaurant. We came here for lunch. The service was very poor, you had to ask yhe waiters for everything. I guess they got paid the same regardless if they worked or not and it showed, they seemed lethargic!
Shanghai is a relatively safe place to travel around, especially if you are a foreigner, as everyone will be looking at you when you get away from the Bund. There is a 'Antique Street' market where you can buy heaps of souvenirs and presents for the folks back home, and the neighbourhood in that area is kind of old and interesting. I'm not sure that the prices are very good, so bring your calculator and haggling skills.
This pedestrian mall is lined with shops, restaurants and departmental stores. If you are into Chinese cuisine, you can find good Shanghainese restaurants here. The mall leads to the famous Bund where magnificant facades of colonial style buildings face the HuangPu River.
