It was once a landmark in Shanghai for half a century before 1980,well known as "No 1 highrise in the Far East" American skycroper style. It was designed by a Hungarian Architecy Ladislans Hudec.Three dimensional from outside, whole building looked very unique and luxurious at that time. The park hotel is the first skycraper and most modern hotel in Asia, invested and built by the Chinese in the 30's of the 20th century. Shanghai zero-point location is also in the Park hotel. It was a great experience for me and my room was at the 17th floor, and there are only two rooms at 17th floor!!! :)

Park Hotel, Shanghai

This is one of the oldest hotels in Shanghai, built in 1933. It used to be the tallest building in Shanghai and is the epicenter of Shanghai. The lobby is colonial in style. The room is spacious with two double beds overlooking Renmin Square. The facilities in the rooms include all basic amenities including hairdryer, internet port, TV, minibar, and coffee making machine.
It is a good tourist hotel as it is centrally located on Renmin Square, the transportation hub of Shanghai. It is a short 10 minute walk to the Nanjing East Road Pedestrian Mall.
