Shopping Paradise
by snuggie about Xiangyang Market
This is a must visit shopping places in Shanghai,if you want to buy the world's most famous brands. An very important thing to take note is that never never follow anyone who attempt to sell you goods outside the market. You can expect to find famous brands such as Nike,Prada,Rolex,Gucci etc..
These items are at a real low price mainly because there are knock-offs or factory seconds or it could be because these items got into the market via unknown channel. You can really get a very good price if you master the art of bargaining.
De Luxe Oriental cuisine.
by Annakin about Jade Garden
A thousand flavours you´ve never tasted...Sea cucumber, abalone, king prawns, etc. in a non-stop-course...
The cheff told us that they´ve got 6 or 7 restaurants on Shanghai, all Jade Gardens. Duck fried rice and Dim Sum ( 40 differents ) are my favourites...The assorted Dim Sum at lunch time, decreases for the dinner...but all are delicious!
Yu Yuan Shangcheng
by ahoerner
Nice place, covered with typical chinese architecture, with lots of shops, bars and restaurants. Stays open until late night gathering chinese and foreign tourists.
To discover findings in the shops can be funny.
In its middle, you find Yu Yuan, a calm chinese garden where you can disconnect from the crazy town outside and have some peace.
Confucian Temple
by Willettsworld
This temple is the only Confucian temple in Shanghai. It was established in 1294 but has only been on its present site since 1855. The complex features some wonderful architecture with elaborately designed pagodas, gateways, small bridges, halls and gardens. There's also a small teapot museum (see next tip).
Open: 9am-5pm daily. Admission: Y10.
