Don't Spit on My Feet!
by Arjaree
Oh yeah the Chinese in China, they spit! Beware of where you walk, cos you might step on others' spit... or you might accidentally be in the way of the spit! Well, Im sure I did step on quite a few dried spits.
Anyway, get pass it or get used to it.
Taxi
by snuggie
Perhaps the most convenient and comfortable way of travelling around Shanghai is by Taxi.Prices are also quite cheap, starting fees start at RMB10.
Just in case you need to give feedback about the taxi services, you can call +86-21-63232150. I was told that they supervise all the taxi companies operating in Shanghai.
Crab, Crayfish, Paua, Tuna......fantastic!
by rabbit06 about Xiao Nan Guo, Hongmei Branch
This larger restaurant branch is fantastic with formal dinning, great service, relaxed, clean, tidy, pleasantly decorated with hardly an empty table. If you get yourslf a private room you will have your own balcony.....ya! The food is very Shanghainese with some great award winning dishes. Crab, Crayfish, Paua, Tuna to sharks fin soup, they are all just fantastic, you will need to bring a BIG appetite!
A true dinning experience !!
What a little treasure....Tianzifang
by rabbit06
Tianzifang is a lovely, pleasantly relaxed part of Shanghai which is great for a wander around.
There are many little shops selling lots of silk and arts, some really nice paintings and prints, very much an "artist type" location.
And there are also plenty of little cafe's offering all types of food and refreshment's!..Great!!!
Gormie's new Shanghai Page
by Gormie
Did a whirlwind tour of China, from Shanghai then west to Kunming and back south and east to Guangzhou and Hong Kong. Spent three and a half wonderful weeks touring, hiking, people-watching, going back to my roots (visited my parents' villages where they grew up)... it was definitely a trip of a lifetime.
