Can anyone give me advice on how good the location is as well as on the hotel quality for Four Points by Sheraton, Daning? I am planning to use Sheraton points to book a room in this hotel and am trying to decide between this one and the Four Points in Pudong.
No comments on hotel quality, but both are in equally lousy locations as far as I'm concerned.
If you're predominantly a taxi user, pick the one in Pudong. If you're predominantly a metro user, pick the one in Daning.

In business for over 20 years, this exhibition hall/shop started by Madam Kubo Mase revives the folk art of indigo batik dying. Nankeen (as indigo batik is known in China) cloth found in ethnic restaurants are sold here, along with ready-made nankeen shirts, tablecloths, and craft souvenirs.
Daily 9am to 5pm. Everything nankeen. You don't necessarily have to buy anything. It is, after all, an exhibition hall.
Located on Nanjing West Road is Xiao Nan Guo Restaurant. It is recognised by brighly lighted neon lights depicting palm trees. Smartly dressed ladies in purple costume and bowler hats greet you as you enter and usher you into the elevator to the restaurant, decorated with chandeliers. The service is efficient, prompt and attentive.
There are several branches of this restaurant all over Shanghai but the most convenient for the average tourist is the Nanking West Road branch. Freshly steamed fish: There are many species of fish available on the menu. Check with the waitress for the market price as fresh fish is sold by weight. Be prepared to pay around RMB 500 for a medium sized fish. You will be shown the live fish in a plastic bag and told of its weight (measured in Chinese units called katis and taels).
Glutinous rice with turtle meat: Slices of turtle meat are placed on top of glutinous rice in a bamboo dim-sum basket.
Written up as the "Hong Kong of Shanghai" this ultra modern district lies behnd the hustle and bustle of Hui Hai Road. Walking through the streets of Xin Tian Di, you feel that you're as far from Shanghai as humanly possible. Everything about screams "Go west". The buildings, alleyway and businesses are there to cater for the expats for the tourist who happened to get lost.
It's a fantastic place to wine and dine. Plenty of restuarnats serving up the best of chinese and western infusions.
Shanghai did really surprise me. Nowhere else we saw a so perfect combination of the historic Chinese references, with the heritage of the several people present in Chines history. English, French, Russian, left their styles, carefully respected and maintained. And in the mix of China and the others, modernity glows with the most harmonious examples of modern architecture.
