Mmm Mmm Good..... Chicken Wings.
by MaosRedArmy about h ( o )( o ) ters Shanghai
Hooters Shanghai is about as American as a restaurant in Shanghai can get. Buckets of chicken wings, picthers of cold beer, college basketball on the TVs, and of course, HOOTERS............paraphernalia for sale everywhere. If you are looking for a traditional Chinese meal, or traditional Chinese culture, you should stay as far away from this place as possible. You will be sadly disappointed.
This was Mao's first, but most likely not last, visit to Shanghai Hooters. Although the place is way out in Hongqiao and is not easy to get to during rush hour (or worse, when its raining and you can't hail a taxi), it is definitely worth the trip for Americans who are missing Hooters, or for those of you who have not yet seen Hooters.
In summary, Mao loves Hooters and hopes you do too.
For Mao's Shanghai Hooters Travelogue, please see: http://www.virtualtourist.com/m/tt/60bc9/#TL I only go there for one reason - the Chicken Wings.
Shanghai Xin Tian Di
by meteorologist1
A popular and exciting nightlife spot for visitors, Shanghai's Xin Tian Di has lots of modern, trendy shops and international restaurants, cafes, and bars which attract a lot of foreigners. Xin Tian Di is situated in a historic area of Shanghai marked by the old restored Shikumen architecture and narrow alleys. The pedestrian street is a great place to take an evening stroll. This is truly a place where the past has met the present, because adjacent to Xin Tian Di is the historic site of the First National Congress of the Communist Party of China. The restaurants and stores here are pretty expensive though.
Shanghai - Pulsating city at the Huan Po River
by Indochine
Shanghai is a city of real supelatives: the biggest harbour of the world, the highest hotel worldwide (Grand Hyatt with 95 floors); the first and only Maglev train in use; but also city of extreme contrasts: growing skyscrapers on every corner contrasting with huge antique markets, hippiest fashion with old chinese tradition.
"Jade Temple"
A incredible moment of silence amidst the pulsating, noisy crowd of Shanghai in front of the Jade Buddha in this Temple can make you dizzy or meditaive.
