It's an island...

It's an island 'near' Shanghai.
Actually, you will need nearly 4 hours to go there, as you will first use a bus from the bus station situated near the Bund, and then use a fast boat.
This one is very great...There are some TV on board, which broadcast chinese movies. The point is these movies are very 'bloody' and 'noisy', as they turn the sound up to the maximum.
So just imagine the scene : you are sit in a chair, watching the movie. You are not lucky, your chair has a garbage on its side, so that the people put their waste into it (sometime they spit also, it's more convenient ;-)
Then, you want to have a drink. So you will go to the bar which is on the rear of the boat. Here, you will be welcomed by the barman who has a chicken in his left hand, and a knife in the other one. I let you imagine the next step...
Well, you need to be brave to go there. But it's very worth.
You can visit the temples there, which are quite nice. But most of the time just relax, walk along the path across the island, on the beaches and so one. Unfortunately, the water seemed not so clean, so we couldn't swim there. Too bad...
Shanghai has two international...
by alexia_lin
Shanghai has two international airports and 3 railway stations,so you can get here pretty easily. The picture shows you one of the greatest bridge here which connects Puxi and Pudong. You might get confused of the name, don't worry, you can look at the map of Shanghai above,it will tell you that Shanghai is seperated into two areas by Huang Pu River, one is called Puxi and another is called Pudong which is a newly built one!
Taxi is very conveinient, but the subway in shanghai is also a good choice. There are two subway lines here,No.1 is from Shanghai Railway Station to Xinzhuang. So if you wanna go to People Square,Nanjing Rd.Huaihai Rd,Xujiahui which are downtown, you can take the first line. And if you want to go to Pudong, you can take No.2 which is from Zhongshan Park to Central Park.
Shanghai Ocean Aquarium
by simcard
If you travel with children to Shanghai, I definitely will recommend visiting the aquarium located at Lujiazui, Pudong. It is one of the biggest aquarium in the world. It is also currently the only aquarium in the world to have a separate exhibition zone that showcases aquatic animals from China, particularly rare and precious species from the famous Yangtze River. It also has the world's biggest tunnel (500 meters).
Shanghai Old Street (chinese: ~{IO:#@O=V~})
by sunnywong
The rebuilt Shanghai Old Street is 825 m long from Renmin Road to Henan Road, divided into the eastern and Western section. The eastern section runs from Renmin Road to Guanyi Street. Shanghai Old Street is an important east-west passageway for sightseeing in the Yuyuan commercial and tourist area.
In the eastern section of the street after ~{!'~}remodeling and restoration teahouses, old-fashioned wine shops, and embroidery stores. Besides, the patterned drip-pipes, upturned eaves, protruding corners and horse-head walls make visitors feel as if they have gone back to the old days. The western section is mainly laid out with Ming Dynasty imitation buildings with black tiles and whitewashed walls, red pillars and upturned eaves, typical of the architectural style of old towns in the Ming and Qing Dynssties. Here one will find rows of antique-featured shops, such as the water pipe store, glutinous dumplings store, roasted nuts shop, and teahouses.
