Dational Defence Hotel

 I was expecting to see a load of army guys in uniform when I walked through the entrance of this hotel but, alas, I didn't see a single one! The hotel is very well located on the main east-west road that runs through the city, just a short distance from the train station. The room I had featured a rather small circular bed. Now, I'm 6ft 2" which meant that my feet dangled slightly off the end. I asked for a "normal" bed but was told that all the single rooms had beds like this. Oh well, it was only for 1 night. The bathroom was very nice, clean and modern. The hotel has a restaurant but no English menus and no English was spoken so I had to get my copy of Lonely Planet from my room and showed them the words for "sweet and sour chicken" which they understood but was a bit poor when it arrived. They also sell beer but it was very weak at just 2.8%. The room cost RMB198.
