Taiyuan is the capital city of Shanxi Province. It's an hour away from Beijing by plane and 6 hours by bus.

This city is not really a major tourist area in China but still, it has something to offer. I guess the main attraction would be the "Jinci Temple". It is a must-see place for all tourists coming to Taiyuan. Getting there is quite easy and very cheap so to speak. You can take the bus for only 2 RMB. Jinci Temple is located 25 kms away from the city proper.
