The main avenues in Chengdu are wide with separate roadways for bicycles. Most of the time the roadways for bicycles were very busy. On the picture is the main avenue from our Sichuan Hotel to the Exhibition Hall.
A long this road are several shops. There are fly-overs for pedestrians.
There are many market stalls everywhere in Chengdu. I especially liked the area south of our Sichuan Hotel, with many marketstreets.
A lot of local people around and you can't imagine how many goods, you can buy here.
I saw vegetables, young cats, turtles, intestines, doves, plants, fish, fruits, herbs and so much more, also very undefinable stuff. I spent half a day in this area.
Chengdu or Jincheng, city of brocade, departmentstore of heaven or perfect metropole .....
I loved anyway the diversity of the city and it was not bad to be obliged to stay a little longer in this city, because the flights to Tibet were cancelled day after day.
We had to stay near our Sichuan hotel for news, so the backstreets, just around the hotel, were often the place for me to go.
Some of these streets had a lot of shops and workshops and were very lively.
