the trip is memorable, not...

the trip is memorable, not only because of the scenary, but also because of the people I meet on my way. For most of the time, we are at a height of at least 2000 meters above sea level. The nature condition there is in no way good for living, but nature offers everything for living. I was deeply moved by Tibettens when watching them kissing the earth of the mountain, when seeing the flying JingFan at each entrance of a mountain and when talking with the old women who, wearing a holy expression, was continuously swinging the small Scripture Roll. They are not worshipping any God, but Nature that creates them! Moneyism is all over China except in Chengdu. People are so relaxed. Tea houses, restaurants, bars are always full of people.
Taste of Ah Ba paradise on earth
by Edy8
Chengdu appears for now to be the springboard to see Jiuzaigou (JZG) Scenic Reserve. With feedback of the tortuous and potentially narrow roads on steep mountains, it could be a dilemma for one to decide whether or not to fly to JZG or take the bus. We decided to take the road, which we heard, have been recently installed well and the journey is not as tortuous as taking a bus to Dugu Lake. Supposedly the road trip would take 12 hours to complete, but apparently it could be done in less time if we did not stop by at Li Bei memorial and Baoen Monastery, both worthwhile to visit as they hold historically well-preserved heritage....
After about 12 hours of bus ride, we arrived at our resort. We were not very tired because the frest air at the resort seemed to revitalize us. We were ready to rest and wait for dawn to appear for us to see the wonderful paradise of JZG in autumn.
JZG Scenic reserve is about half an hour away from our resort. Along the way, we saw some leaves have turned yellow, some very rare ones red. The sight, with the clouds and mist intermingling with the green, yellow and red was beyond compare except perhaps, with New Zealand's Queenstown....
Upon arriving at the JZG Scenic reserve, we have to change to our chartered bus. For those who have no chartered bus, the reserve provides public buses which could be boarded at certain locations... As we toured the JZG Scenic reserve, travelling up and down the `Y' to savour the scenic locations - Sword carg, Nuor-ilong, Long Lake, Waterfall of Pearl Shoal, etc.... Ah, beautiful names for beautiful sights! But nature is unpredictable and not as timely as we want her to be. It was two days before mid October, yet, the leaves here are not as red, no, not even as yellow as they should be ...However, with the sun's rays brightly lighting up the clear colourful waters, the sights of the scenic spots warmed our hearts, heightened our senses and elicited great joy in us... Indeed, this is JZG paradize...

I said the Hai Luo Glacier is a fairy land. There are 9 warm springs at No. 2 camping base, each has different temperature ranging from 30 centigrade to 90 centigrade(this is for eggs, not for you!). Get your body hot after lying in the spring for half an hour, then walk around on the snow, and you don't feel cold at all! When sun sets behind the mountain, the forest gets dark and the mist comes out, what you see is the shadow of mountains and trees which you can imagine into anything; what you hear is the gurgling sound of spring and ... yes! tibettan songs!
Oriental Alps
by xiaomei
This is Balang Mountain en route to the Oriental Alps. This continuous layer of cloud with very clear sky above happens only very likely in the morning only for a very short while. The very charismatic handsome driver uncle told us he only saw this less than 10 times for the about 100 times that he pass through this area.
We encounter this during the descending departure. When we were ascending and on route towards Oriental Alps, most of the time this whole place is very very foggy, less than 10 metres of visibility on the road. It is impossible to see oncoming cars from the other direction and dangerous especially at the road bends about the mountain.
For the very adventurous, there exist a route in the Siguniang mountains to trek to the Miyaluo.
