These purplish trishaws are one of the favorite modes of transportation in Chengdu. It's most probably owned by the same company or state since they are all sporting the same look (unlike those in Indonesia or Malaysia where the private individuals are both the boss & worker).
I thought the uniform look rendered a nice look to the city. Pretty unique of Chengdu.
Zhuge Liang was a renowned general and statesman during the early Three Kingdoms period some 1,800 years ago. A shrine to his memory was built 400 years after he died, and rebuilt a thousand years later. It is situated in a charming park with a teahouse and an excellent bonsai collection.
My hometown.
It enjoys mild climate,but some people complain it is too cloudy and muggy here.They are right ,so Chengdu people like to go out for journey form time to time,but not for long ,After coming back,they all say satisfied"To tell the truth ,our city is the most comfortble to live in .Which city else can you buy vegetable so fresh,or can you drink tea in the comfrtable bamboo chair?"
Chengdu is wet so people enjoy spicy and hot food like hotpot--scalding,spicy.At first you may feel it is hard to bear,but after sometime you may get addicted to it.Many people miss hotpot so much after they leave Chengdu,No matter they are local people or only have been living in here for a period.
Probably beacuse of the mild climate,people here enjoy a relaxed life.The pace is alawys a little more slowly than the cities like Beijing and Shanghai.Young people say it is a good place to live in but not a graet place to work.--you can't always sit in your bamboo chair to drink tea and nap in the long afternoon's warm sunlight .The younth can't find the motive to get a better life--the life surround is good enough,why to strggle for another one?
Anyway ,Chengdu is undoubtedly a great place to live in.Come to enjoy teas in the bamboo chair,but don't try to find a job here .^-^
If you like travelling,it is also a good conecting center to many places especially to Tibet.
