Qin Tai Road
by sanhung
Do pay a visit to Qin Tai rd., if you have time. It is a road whereby the buildings on and around it are nicely renovated and painted to give the place a very nostalgic feeling. You can buy some souvenirs here. Look for a little souvenir shop a few doors from the crystal shop. It is easy to distinguish the shop cause its setting is different from other souvenir shops, and the souvenirs look much better. The souvenirs found here are sold by a lady from beijing who does special orders for government officials. So the souvenirs are usually limited editions and are better crafted. Qin Tain Road is great for a picture or two, really.
Du Fu Cottage
by xiquinho
One of China's greatest classical poets lived and composed his poetry here around the year 700 A.D., during the Tang Dynasty. His former home became a shrine three hundred years later. Paintings, landscape designs and displays are calculated to evoke the moods of Du Fu's poems.
Chengdu - The pandas, the opera & SPICY HOT POT
by explorer001
"City of Panda"
Most people visit Chengdu just to see the pandas. There's a panda research center in this city, and boy, those creatures are cute
"City of the Sichuan Opera"
The opera show is one of the unique feature in this city, and the main attraction is the 'face changing' skill these guys possessed. Within seconds these guys can change their masks without you noticing.
"And last but not least - Steaming Sichuan Hot pot"
My advise - take a box of tissues, walk in a hot pot restaurant, order the mild spicy version - and then start wiping your tears/sweat...
Remember - Don't eat the pepper seed, your tongue will turn numb in no time....
