Hakka Village (Luo Dai)
by kw88
Hi
I heard that there is a hakka village in Chengdu. How far is it from the city? Is it worth a visit? I'm going to Chengdu with my extended family and we have a group of 10 people. Can anyone recommend me a place where i can rent a minibus with a driver who can ferry us to all the places of interest? Thanks a lot.

Luo Dai is 20KM away from the the urban area of Chengdu. I took the bus to Luo Dai last November. I like the small Great Wall which is 8KM away from the old street of Luo Dai. I sent some pictures about Luo Dai and the small Great Wall. Please check it.

Travel Tips for Chengdu
Beautiful lady on EB
by l_joo
Now take some relax time to watch this beautiful lady riding the EB on street of Chengdu. Definitely she is riding EB, take a close look, don't just look at her body parts, please concentrate looking at the bicycle parts. If your government allow EB on street, what will happen then? Well ermm, one bike needs two Dollars a day, Chengdu has 9 millions, times 2 equal to 18 million Dollars a day for just the fuel alone to be earned. Okay I expect somebody send me emails to educate me that power plants needed more natural fuels kind of story.
Shu Feng Ya Yun Teahouse - Cultural experience
by cafank
We had a lovely night at this teahouse. OK it was a bit touristy but the show was a great overview to the local cultural activities - it is especially good if you are unable to visit any full culture shows.
We saw snatches of Sichuan Opera, shadow dancing and several other folk dancing and singing acts.
You do have to book as it is a hot spot especially for Chinese tourists.
A nice evening - the tea was OK too
Check out the street food!
by K.Knight
Food stalls are everywhere in China, and as was the case in Xian and Shanghai, Chengdu is no exception. The only problem is that all of the produce sits in the sun all day and I can not help but think of all the germs that are breeding here or how many restaurants purchase their produce from here?
Most things on offer were pigs gut, pigs’ trotters, squid and duck.
Anne and I frequented these stalls on a regular basis to stock up on bottles of water and, Anne’s favorite, peach juice but we never ate the food.
