InterContinental Resort Jiuzhai Paradise

We stayed for a couple of nights at the Intercontinental, apparently from a rebranded locally managed resort originally called Jiuzhai Paradise, whose owner also owns those lakes, Jiuzhai Park, local communities, Qian ancient villages, police station, fire department and his very own power plant. My gosh!!! A couple of his "toys" were casually displayed by the hotel entrance - Lamborghini, Bentley and Hummer..... just in case you really want to make an impression, you can arrive in a helicopter. They have a heli pad in their backyard.

The entire complex were built in such an amazing architecture inside a giant glass house, Restaurants and shops inside the complex are built in a unique architecture which apparently adopted from Tibetan houses. Looks almost like a Peruvian Pueblo. Come to think of it, majority of the locals facial features do look more like Peruvians than Chinese.

Directions: about 1 hour drive from the airport

Waiters and waitresses were polite. They have a indoor pool and SPA but must pay to go in. There are many restaurants too but I did not manage to try any as all food for my tour was catered for. The buffet and breakfast in the cafe was ok but nothing fantastic.

Unique Quality: The landscaping is very beautiful and the rooms are spacious. There is no air conditioning but only heating as the temperature in Jiuzhaigou is not very high all year round since it is about 2000 m above sea level.

Two of our tour group members stayed here for the night and we were given time to roam around in the hotel lobby. But the hotel in nothing really fantastic based on most reviews.

Jiuzhai Paradise International Resort Hotel is a 5* Hotel. We need to top up another S$170 to upgrade from our 4* Hotel to this 5* hotel.

This hotel is located in Ganhaizi which is 450 km from Chengdu and 20 km from Jiuzhaigou Park.

There are 1,000 over rooms and suites, a forest villa hotel, a conference hall, an exhibition hall, hot spring center and Ancient Canling Town Museum.

The hotel lobby is enclosued in glass roof top which make you feel like you are inside a huge bird cage. There are ducks and fishes swimming in the ponds. The bellhops are dressed as Tibetan cowherds.

You could see the tall mountains as you exit the hotel.

Unique Quality: serves international standard buffet breakfast

I was in Jiuzhaigou for two days during which I stayed at the Jiuzhai Paradise International Resort. It has a conference center, an indoor spa and massage center, shops, and luxurious rooms with mountain or forest views.

Unique Quality: The Spa Center is enormous with an oval glass dome measuring 150 in length, 65 m width and 26m in height. It is the largest glass dome in the Asia-Pacific region. There are warm pools, hot pools and cold pools to dip in. Enjoy a relaxing foot massage while having a cocktail by the poolside.

Directions: 450 km from Chengdu and 60 km from the nearest airport, Jiuzhaigou airport.

The best hotel i ever stay in. They have the most beautiful lobby and also large rooms with an excellent service. It is like a mini village inside the hotel, very impressive.

The hotel is make up of glass walls and ceiling, inside the hotel, you feel like in a forest with trees and ponds when you step into the lobby. The architecture in the hotel is all tibetian style making you feel like staying in a tibetian village.

Unique Quality: They have hot baths, large swimming pools, shopping areas, pubs, large ponds and gardens, delicious buffet spread and also great views of the mountians.
