Waterfront Stroll
by mskwan
Do what the locals do, take a leisurly walk along the waterfront opposite side to the Grand Buddha. There are plenty of benches to sit down and watch people go by. For 2 yuan you can take a small ferry to the island (more like a sand bar) lying in the middle of the river between you and the Buddha.

We were escorted by the police car until the Buddha temple and they left us there, promising the police that the taxi would return to pick up to us in the afternoon.
At the end of the day , they didn´t come , we ought to take a bus and the hostel reimbursed us the full trip
Separated by rivers is a city filled with super-modern buildings and in the other side the temple which hosts the world's largest Buddha.
