Monastery guesthouse: stay in the monastery
Unique Quality: For a small fee you can stay in the monastery guesthouse. The monastery has no restaurant or food for sale, so you have to bring your own. Boiled water is supplied.

festival grounds at the monastery: Camping with 100,000 others
Our normal small iglo tents were quit different from the Tibetan tents. They had bigger tents, that sleep a whole family, sometimes decorated with religious colourfull symbols. Some were traditional nomad tents made of the black Yak-hair. But most were not waterproof, as the plastic coatings demonstrate.
