Built in the nineties and recently renovated, the hotel has six floors and executive suites, executive floors and non smoking rooms. There are rooms with disabled access too. I have only seen it form outside.
Turpan Hotel is the prefered accomodation for backpackers in Turpan. The hotel has cheap dorm beds. It is also the place where you find John's information and internet-cafe. John has also a nics restaurant. When you want to meet other backpackers, this is certainly the place to go.
If the grape trellises are too touristy or non-authentic, the form Turpan Hotel you go just a few steps south, than you'll be on mud roads between old adobe houses.
The Turpan Hotel also has an indoor swimmingpool, which seems to be a big attraction for the local kids.
