Turpan Oasis Hotel

The Oasis Hotel is quite centrally located, near the night market.

We had a Uighur-style room (with mattresses on a platform at the end). The room was very comfortable also had a hatstand (great for games of competitive James Bond-style hat throwing) and a flask of freshly boiled water and teabags.

Breakfast was freshly-prepared (bread, jam, eggs with sausage, melon) rather than a buffet.

We booked as part of a package deal, so I cannot comment on the room rate.

Unique Quality: Uighur-style rooms.

The hotel is a quiet place with a garden, directly on the pedestrian road with grape trellises. The rooms are small and dark, but very clean. Aircondition is a must in hot Turpan. It has a business center with a slow internet connection. The restaurant is nice. When there are enogh Westerners staying in the hotel they serve a nice breakfast buffet.

Unique Quality: I liked the hotel because of the convenient location and the quiet.

Directions: Oasis Hotel is located in Youth Road, known as Turpan City's "Grape Street", and is surrounded by lush greenery. It is built in a traditional Islamic architectural style. It takes 40 minutes to train station and a mere two hours travelling time to Urumqi.
