Holiday Inn Urumqi

The Holiday Inn is probably the best hotel in Urumqi, although it is looking well past its best now.
There are several good restaurants, including a Muslim restaurant and the Western coffee-shop.
This is a high-rise hotel with views west over People's Park...towards Central Asia!

Unique Quality: I found the room overheated and stuffy, although it was enormous and bright. I had a separate bedroom and sitting room which was nice, but I suspect that not all rooms are as generously-sized.
There is a rooftop bar and karaoke lounge, which gives a good view of the city.
