From Kunming to Dali
by vigi
I took a mini bus, left Kunming at 4pm (delayed one hour), arriving Dali new town (this place is called Xia-Kuan) at around 8pm. The woman stting next to me was nice, offered me mandarin (orange), sweets, biscuits and nuts. The road was very bumpy, she actually felt car-sick thus keep eating, and keep offering me her food. I also offered her my car-sick pill which she rejected at first, but finally have to swallow one. There're 2 more people vomiting behind me in the bus, I gave away 3 pills in total.
solar panels
by xaver
Jim's tibetan hotel as most of the new buildings in Dali get hot water using solar panels on their roofs.
Dali is not sunny all the year so they also have the usual boiler for cloudy or rainy days but, talking with Jim, I got to know that for most of the year the panels give enough hot water for all the hotel and restaurant.
It's a pity that in Italy we still did not get a law that obliges to put solar panels on new buildings as we have much more sunny days than Dali.

China no deja de ser un pais de contrastes donde se pueden ver grandes autopistas , puentes modernos... y por otro lado , especialmente en los pueblos , medios de transportes de hace ochenta años
China remains a country of contrasts , where you can see major highways, modern bridges ... and on the other hand, especially in the villages, transports that were used eighty years ago
