Morning Ray at Dali
by vigi
Couldn't sleep, I woke up early and hope to pick up some breakfast in the town. Itwas 8am in the morning, and I was surprised that people in this town came out quite late. As you can see, only a few locals walking on the streets, and most shops did not opened yet, even breakfast place! But then, this is another feel of the quiet side of Dali.
Vida en el Campo / Farmers
by elpariente
The life of the people working the field is not easy because the production methods used are traditional, with very little help from the machines and the women are who mostly make the work
The land is owned by the state, but assigned to families, depending on the number of the family members where they may farm
In the red poster of the picture appear in Chinese the families in the village, their members and the variation of the land they have allocated
Dali Old Town
by kpyam2000
Dali is located about 400 km north west of Kunming. It is divided into Xiaguan (Dali City) and Dali, an old rustic miniature town lined with cobbled streets and traditional buildings within the ancient town walls. It take only about half an hour to walk from the South Gate across Old Town to the North Gate. Very laid back.

Erhai Lake
by Avieira67
This alpine lake, sandwiched between the Cangshan Mountains to the West and Dali City, is situated at 1972 m above sea level. With an area of 250 km², Erhai lake represents the second largest highland lake of China.
The lakeshore can be explored by hiking. Personally, I explored it by cycling. Highlights include Erhai Lake Park and the Butterfly Springs on the Western bank. Islands on the lake are also available to visits.
Bai people [the locals] are famous for their fishing method with cormorants. These birds are prevented from swallowing their fish by rings fixed around their neck.
Drum Tower
by Willettsworld
The drum tower lies on Wenxian Lu which is the southern part of Fuxing Lu - the main street that runs north-south through Dali. It's possible to climb up it for free where you get to see most of the old town. There's some nice pools, trees and flowers around the drum tower and you can sit and take it all in from small pavilions.
