In Chinese: The Great Mosquito Massacre of 2008

A sprinkling of mosquitos on the way up the stairs didn't bode well for the local mosquito population. Their whine and slow flight showed history within the halls. The doors to the rooms open, we found the masses inside as expected. The closing of the door foreshadowed the insecticide that was about to occur. The door closed, and the killing began.

Already to the walls clung the dried blood of full mosquito smashed, their deaths bound up in the noise of a well-aimed smack. But those walls that night saw no more blood, least not ours, but felt that smack of our China map, as moquitos fell, one by one. Some under foot, some in midflight. Some managed to dodge a few, eeking out a few more seconds, only to feel the Hammond International's wrath in another spot.

Mosquitos 0, humans 20+

We let the cockroaches go, as they don't carry disease and we had no reason to kill them. That and they're messy when they're as big as your thumb... and we didn't want to move the bed and unleash anything worse.

Unique Quality: Other than that, the place was dirty- and I don't mind dirt... it was just the nature of the dirt- it felt sleazy, aside from the spit dried on the wall and floors, like a brothel. Not the place to go if you are one who likes clean hotels.

It was a place to sleep- and I slept well there- and it was a cheap $3.80 for a double room. At least they washed the sheets and pillow cases...
