Pity the Tour Guide
by hooiluangoh
Think about this when you want to join a local tour, which is competitively priced:
The tour guide who constantly puts on a smile and tries to please you in all ways does not draw a salary or wage from the tour company.
So how does he/she make a living ? The answer lies in the commission she/he will earn when she/he takes you shopping at a particular shop. If you decide to buy nothing, because usually stuff at such places are exorbitantly overpriced, then perhaps you want to think about giving her/him a tip, up front, before she/he loses her/his temper with you.
Professionalism ? I don't think they know what it means when every penny has to be earned by luring tourists into shopping at designated places.
Packing List
by Chitan
The average temperature is 15 degrees Celsius, but it will suddenly drop down to only 5 degrees when it rains. Jacket or sweater should be put in the packing list. Unless rainning, the sun shines strongly enough to cause skin damage. Bring anything that could moisturize the skin and block sun ray.

Dog's Meat
by vigi
I didn't know that dog's meat is so popular in Kunming. There are many stores selling dog's meat noodles and hot pot alonge the road, with big "Dog's Meat" sign board. This is a bowl of dog's meat noodle, pretty expensive, 15 Yuan. A normal noddle only cost 4 Yuan in Kunming. The taste not too fantastic, it's like lamb, but little sweeter.
STONE FOREST
by Avieira67
Also known as the First Wonder of the World for its natural landscape, the Stone Forest is located about 120 km southeast of Kunming.
For many people, this is a must see place when visiting Kunming.
There are daily tours leaving Kunming early in the morning.
This picture was taken when I was travelling, by train, from Kunming to Guilin.
