Beijing Street

Beijing Street is perhaps the longest street in Kunming, and one of the city's major streets. You can find lots of shopping, roadside stores, skyscrapers etc. If you explore the side lanes, there are many stores selling various types of merchandise.
Bamboo rice (like Malaysia's lemang)
by hooiluangoh
I was somewhat surprised to see this. This is yet another proof how Yunnan must have been closely related to Malaysia.
Bamboo rice is a norm in the prefecture of Xishuang Banna.
It's glutinous rice cooked in the hollows of a bamboo.
Classical Naxi Musical Concert
by Sharrie
Classical Naxi Musical Concert: Dayan Classical Naxi Music Band performs here (Dongda Jie) every night at 8 pm. This band has performed in many parts of the world including Scandinavia, U.S. & Japan. A very different type of music, it takes a little time to get used to. Some of their music includes songs from the Tang & Song Dynasties! The musicians are almost as old as their songs as well (relative to lifespan ;-) ; most of them are over 70 & 80 years old! :)
Kunming-Xishuangbanna
by John195123 about Fruit Vendors
If you happen to need fruit, there are vendors along the road in many places- not on G323, but on the smaller roads. Keep in mind buying fruit, however, that there are poisons and pesticides et cetera in use here that the west prohibits... so wash the fruit well and don't eat non-peelable fruit for other reasons, such as fecal fertilizers.
