Golden Spring Hotel
Rated as a local chinese standard 4 star hotel, I'm very pleased with the room and the service. The room is spacious and clean, though my room doesn't have a bathtub fitting, the shower is good.
Breakfast is of local chinese fare but at least there's the toast and coffee, but no scrambled eggs. For the price of less than 300yuan/night, I would say it's reasonably good.
The room ventilation is also good and the hotel doesn't smell, like so many other local chinese hotels i've stayed. it's also only less than 10 minutes on the taxi to the old city. There are also a number of small eating places opp the hotel and a laundry service nearby which is of course cheaper than the hotel services.

Clean and Bright
It's one of the latest 4 star additions to the many hotels in Lijiang. It's very clean. We partically enjoyed the wood flooring in the hotel room - there's now way dust, dirt, and cigarette smell can hide. The restaurant is pretty good too. At least it's cheaper and better than the 4 star hotel next door (I think it was called Air Traffic Hotel).
