Guanfang Hotel (Qidian), Lijiang, China - Reviews and Hotel Information

We only stayed for one night, but we were generally quite pleased with the hotel. It's a large, recently renovated hotel that is walking distance from the Old Town in Lijiang. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, bathrooms impressive and all but the service was probably close to a western 3-4 star standard. We didn't have time to take advantage of the facilities, but we had a lovely breakfast buffet (western and Chinese), so we know the food was good. The hotel had just reopened while we were there, and it still had some bugs to work out. But at least the staff was friendly, and they made an effort to meet our needs. I would recommend staying here to anyone who can afford the room rates. It's not exactly a charming place to stay, but it has the grandeur of a large city hotel, and it's in a great location.

The views down along the main street of Lijiang with Jade Dragon Snow Mountain in the background are gorgeous! And we were excited that we could easily walk from there to Old Town or Black Dragon Pools (a must-see).
