A charming little hotel
When you arrive with a taxi from the busstation in Lijiang, the driver will leave you somewhere outside the Ancient town, because he cannot enter with his car, but at the nearest point to this hotel. So prepare yourself to walk some 5 to 10 minutes with your luggage.
The only problem you can have is to find the right adress of this hotel; I passed three times before the entrance without recognizing the Chinese signs of Shanhe Hotel. So don't hesitate to show the Chinese namecard for finding out.
PS: Always keep the namecard of this hotel with you, when walking into the town, because you will certainly be lossed in the middle of all these small alleys, as it happened to me the first 4 days.
Unique Quality: I stayed for one week in this charming little hotel, a real old Chinese character building, with court inside, wooden and stone decorations, many flowers and plants. On the wooden balconies and in the court, you can sit down and have a drink. The only noice you hear, is the sound of the birds, because there is no traffic in the whole old town. I would recomment this small hotel for anyone who wants to stay in the middle of this ancient town, full of small paved streets and bridges over tiny waterways of cristal- clear water.
