Charming but elusive
We spent a wonderful 4 nights at this inn. It is not in the centre of town, and is really quiet.The heating was not working yet as it is brand new but it will be soon.
The owner, Miss Dong couldn't have been more hospitable despite the language barrier.
Very comfortable bedroom with bathroom for 180 RMB. There are patios between the rooms where you can sit in the evening and drink beer and meet new friends... all very enjoyable.Just remember to take the hotel card with you,or you won't find the way back!

Seems nice!
We didn't stay here, but I wanted to get a shot of it in case anyone needed to have the Chinese characters to ask about it... or something. Anyway, it seemed like a pretty nice place from the outside, in the center of the action and all.

Traditional Naxi Hotel
Mu´s Mansion is a traditional hotel/guesthouse with beautiful courtyard and nice rooms. It is not directly in the very center but still in the old town, so it is not too busy. We had a charming room with large panoramic windows with great views and a very modern shower. This proved to be quite useful as it was cold in our room when the weather was not so good, so we warmed up by showering! This was the only negative thing about the place, I wouldn´t choose it again when it is cold outside. Though, I don´t know if it is different in other guesthouses as they are all built in the traditional Naxi style.
Unique Quality: Nice panoramic views, free tea refill, also the staff is very friendly although they do not speak English very well.
