Duoyi River Hotel: Duoyi River Hotel

A decent 2-star hotel at the northern edge of town. The hills start to rise up to the north beyond here.
The rooms are standard 2-star quality with lino floor, fairly hard beds and split A/C unit which is noisy.
The bathroom was standard: the usual poor grouting, staines from poor quality taps and washers, and seemingly not a single miao spent on maintenance since the hotel opened. However, it is a pleasant enough place to stay for a few days to explore the area.
The hotel has a restaurant (passable) but no English at all. You will need to have some basic Chinese, at least out here (or alternatively a good command of half a dozen minority languages!)

I don't think there is a 3-star place in Luoping, but I'd happily stay at the Duoyi River hotel again.

Unique Quality: The hotel had several noticeboards with a local map, photographs and some information on local attractions which was an absolute first in China! I was very impressed with this and made a point of explaining to staff and the manager how useful this was. I believe they may be able to arrange trips for the day. I had my own car, so didn't need to do this.
