There are many lake called "west lake", but the West Lake of Hangzhou is the most famous one. In ancient China, the West Lake was the most likely eulogized lake by many famous poets. The West Lake is compared to "Beautiful woman","bright eyes of Hangzhou" by the poets.

I visited my mom in Shanghai for two weeks one fall and she took me to areas around Kun Shang city (where she is currently living). Hangzhou was one of my visits. Pictured here is a view of one portion of the West Lake. We went when there weren't as many people as during the summer or spring which was great because there weren't 10 million people trying to enjoy the "tranquility" with you.
