transportation means from HangZhou to ShangHai Pudong Airport
by zoeyuka
Please help me if anyone know about this!
I will need to get back to ShangHai Pudong Airport to catch the flight at 9.30am from HangZhou. What is the cheapest and convenience way to do so? (train, bus,or taxi)Is it possible for me to rush for the flight from HangZhou early in the morning? Or it might be better for me to turn back to ShangHai the night before the flight?
Thanks in advance for any useful information provided.

you have to check what is the first coach to shanghai as the journey is 1 hr .From shanghai station where u drop off you got to take a cab to the mangnetic rail to airport, the journey is approx 25 mins.max from buyinc tickets to the airpot. However the journey to the rail frm shanghai bus station will be around half hour.so good luck n add up the hours n pls include sometime for getting lost/re track./

Hi
The journey by coach from Hangzhou to Shanghai takes around 2.5 to 3 hours or so and if your flight is at 9.30am you would have to leave HZ at a ridiculously early time becuase if its an international flight you are catching you would need to be at Shanghai Pudong airport around 7.00 am,bear in mind the airport is ALWAYS busy these days,it can take 45 mins and more sometimes to clear formalities.
This means you would have to leave around 3.30am //4.00am in order to get to the airport in time.
There is a bus thats goes direct bewteen HZ Yellow Dragon Bus Station and SH Pudong airport but i am not sure of the timings,i have used it once and i recall the fare is about 100rmb / 150 rmb something like that.
I am from U.K.but i work in HZ most of the year and have traveled bewteen HZ and SH many times so i know the time it takes to get between the two. I always travel the day before to Shanghai and take a cab to the airport,it will cost around 150 rmb ( around $18 ) and takes around 45 mins to 1 hour at the time you would have to leave your hotel depending from where in Shanghai you stay. The magalev train is an option but the station is not in downtown SH so you probably have to take a cab to get there anyway.
In my way of thinking a rushed journey is a stressed journey !I would stay in Shanghai.
Hope this helps.
Mike

you can find the trains and bus run from Hangzhou to Shanghai in my following pages

I travel between the two cities at least 50 times, my comment is:
it's impossibe to get to pudong airport from HZ if you set out in the morning, you'd better get Shanghai before. I suggest you can find a good and cheap hotel near Longyang Road metro station, and take the maglev to airport by the morning.

Hi Mike 53
I'm sure we communicated a few times when I was planning my Vietnam vacation. Remember I wouldn't tell anyone what the 53 stood for because it was my birth year also?
Now I'm planning a trip to China in March so your info is proving helpful once again

West Lake (xi hu)
by sunnywong
West Lake is simply one of the most beautiful sights in China. There are green hills on 3 sides of the lakes and numerous pavilions and temples on its shores. The best way to explore the lake is on foot, by bicycle or by boat. The lake can be crossed on 1 of the 2 causeways, which traverse the lake. The Bai causeway (baiti) was named after the Tang dynasty poet Bai Juyi (772-8461) and the willow tree lined Su causeway (suti) was named after Song dynasty poet Su Dong (1037-1101).
Attractions to visit around West Lake include Gushan (The Solitary Hill), which has a rich collection of, cultural relics and is possibly one of the best places for viewing the lake scenery. Huxin Ting (Mid Lake Pavilion) has attractive grounds and is only accessible by boat. Boats can be hired at West Lake and there are also passenger ferries.
