Amongst the trees you'll find the series of stunning buildings, each with its own large halls............what to look out for in particular, is the 20metre-high statue of Siddhartha Gautama, which was sculpted in 1956 from 24 blocks of camphor wood.
Above and behind the large sculpture, which was based on a Tang dynasty original, sits a breath-taking montage of 150 small figures........ that charts the journey of 53 children on the road to Buddhahood. Ji Gong, a monk who secretly ate meat, and the 'mad monk' are also represented here.
3000 monks are supposed to have lived here, during the time of the Five Dynasties!!!
Opening times are 7am-5pm daily, whilst entry prices are Y20 for adults, and Y10 for children.
