BEFORE GOING HOME
Dear,
I will visit Hangzhou in May 20-22. I know not much about Hangzhou. I want to spend one whole day for visiting Hangzhou. Where should be the most favorable places and how to get there? Can I find the local person for accompanying us?
Which is cheapest travel agent where I can book for one day tour in Hangzhow.
Try and stay in the West Lake area - there is lots to do around here and it is easy to find your way to temples and other sites. Bus travel is pretty easy as there are designated buses which take in all of the usual tourist sites. I have been to Hangzhou 5 times now and have been able to wander and see many sites by myself using bus and sometimes taxi - but I enjoy the walking and hiking to tea plantations and temples and pagodas.
If you want a prvate guide your hotel or hostel should be able to help you. They will also have local guyides available for full tours - the prices will be similar it will depend upon what you want to see.

West Lake is the main attraction. In addition going around it on foot or bicycle, and taking a boat ride on the lake, the other sights I would also recommend for 1 day would be Lingyin Temple, Hefang Jie pedestrian street and the Impressions West Lake performance.
Any tour which's too cheap to be true is definitely going to have kickback shopping or something similar. Don't be cheapskate and then waste your own time.
It's famous, not because of the awful smell, but also the delicious taste. Local loves it, we also have in shanghai.. more or less are the same.. I like it.. especially with hot sauce.. :) My western friends have different reaction of trying it. Some love it... the others.. urhhhh... what about you tell me?
It's not so famous as the West Lake, but I strongly recommend you to visit this place. It's newly open to public on May 1, 2005.
I like the wildness, quietn, cleaness,originality, elegancy inside the Park. After you coming out of the wetland Park, you'll feel how ugly all the modern reinforced concrete buildings are!
It covers about 15 square km area, and is the only one wetland which is so close to a modern city.
