HANGZHOU-Morning Exercise
It is an early morning. Many people are sunk in sleep on their bed. And many other get up already and begin to gather to each place where they are going to exercise: the city squares, the open ground before big stores, the side of West Lake¡ Nearly any vacant places are full of exercise people.
They are wearing Chinese traditional sportswear, seriously doing various exercises: from Chinese Taijiquan to Western Waltz, swordplay, and fan dance and red silk dance.
When the sun begins to rise, they end their exercise and go home, while most people are just getting up.
The morning exercise in China is an unique scenery that you can less see in any other countries.
Lovely Hangzhou
by Paul2001
Hangzhou is considered by many to be China's most beautiful and romantic city. For many years it has been the honeymoon capital of China. As you stroll along the shoreline of the exquisite West Lake, you will notice many couples walking hand in hand. The city has become very popular with foreigners too. I met Western ex-pat who have fallen heads over heels of the city. Possibly for this reason, Hangzhou seems to have more bars and western restaurants than any city I visited outside of Shanghai and Beijing.
Hangzhou is dominated by the West Lake which in turn is almost surrounded by scenic green hills. The splendid lake and the atmosphere provided by it almost make you forget the fact that Hangzhou suffers from a lack of really first rate attractions. With possibly one exception, the Feilai Feng, I found most of historical attractions to be rather ordinary by Chinese standards. However it is the West Lake that is the star here. I spent more than a day touring the sites that sit on it's banks. I think that it the drawing card that should make you consider stopping by Hangzhou during you tour of Central China.
