Hangzhou Famous Dishes
The exterior of this restaurant mimic the traditional chinese building with hanging lanters, flying roof & carved windows.
Three famous Hangzhou dishes are Beggar's chicken, Dongpo meat & Sweet vinegar fish. All these dishes are with sweet flavour. Beggar's chicken is wrapped in clay & aluminium foil & cooked in a furnace to maintain the juiciness of chicken. Dongpo meat is pork with a thick layer of fat tissue. The fat layer is so soft & dissolved in mouth at first bite. The gravy is best with rice. Sweet vinegar fish has a lot of fine bones & a bit too sweet for my taste buds.
