Is there any possibility to have a local english speaking guide for Hangzhou for 1 day trip (we're coming from Shanghai)? I have already bought a tour to China but I refused to take the trip to Hangzhou through them as they take you only to West lake and Tea village. Any names and e-mails are great help to come in touch

We will be in Shanghai from 12-16 September (it will the end of our trip).
One of these days will be dedicated to Suzhou and the other to Hangzhou. I don't really know if a guide is needed and if you can move around easily on your own with a guide book. I have not challenged myself in China yet. In all other Asia more or less some english was spoken. I have got an offer for 1000RMB for a day tour in Hangzhou with taxi driver speaking english and then a 600RMB for just a guide in Suzhou

I was walking through the sidewalk of west lake. Here is the inner lake which I seldom reached before. HZ ppl rebuilt this area and many of others small lakes around. It's quiet and fresh here, not as crowded as the old famous spots.
In the evening, we went to see a cultural show ("Song Cheng Qian Gu Qing") at the Song City. This show was about an hour long, and it integrated various forms of performing arts, eg. music, dance, acrobatics etc. The show also used some visual effects such as laser diaplays. It was better than what I had expected, and is quite worth seeing.
