Hotels on Putuoshan
They don't have any hostels on Putuoshan (at least they didn't while I was there) so you will have to spring for a hotel. For this reason, Putuoshan is not a good place to go alone, because the cheapest hotel rooms are something like $15-$20. Try to hook up with some other travelers to keep your accomodation costs down, or just budget in a hefty hotel bill while you're in Putuoshan! Also, I would strongly encourage you to bargain hard on your room price. You will be able to get the price down considerably that way.
