From the Poussada keep heading down the hill about 100 metres. You can't miss the sign. If you are walking past the swimming pool you took the wrong road down the hill from the roundabout take the other road.
At 15USD a night it was good value for Baucau. The disappointment with the room was that the fly screen window was damaged and we were bitten by a few mosquitos, so hopefully they will repair this. There is also no fan or airconditioning, and although Baucau is much pleasantly cooler at night, no air circulated around our room. The host Bruno, is a very pleasant gentleman, who will help you whilst you stay in Baucau. He speaks decent English.

The Pousada used to be called the Hotel Flamboyant and was infamous as being a place where many where detained and mistreated by the Indonesian authorities!
There is also a restaurant here that provides very decent food as well as a good wine list. Be sure to prebook if staying here, as it is the main accommodation option in Baucau.
Cost is $55USD a night, which includes 12%tax. Buffet breakfast is included in the price.

Located just by the beach, this place is nice for relaxing. Coconut trees around the chalets provides nice cooling shades. I heard that if you book from the agent, they will request a minimum of 4 person per chalet but if you do a walk in, the owner will be willing to accept minimum of 2 person. Charges are per head at USD10 per person. This is best place to stay in Bacau for this price but you need to have your own transportation.
The owner stays in the last house on the right just before you arrive at the Wataboo beach or just wait at the chalet. The owner or his neighbours will see you and come to you.
This place is about 10-15 minutes away from town centre.
Nice and peaceful, great for big group who are planning to have a picnic. You can also buy fresh and cheap fish within walking distant. At the beach, turn right and it is the chalet after the abandon colonial house.
