Hotel Timor is the one and only true Hotel in Dili. This hotel is a 4 star hotel, with bar, restaurant, pool, and all the amenities.

There are about 8 rooms at this pousada. Two in the main building and six just outside. Price for USD15 (inc breakfast) for all rooms on weekdays; USD50 (main building) and USD40 (other rooms) for weekend. These weekend prices was recently reduced.
Facilities are minimum, with only a restaurant and a living room with tv. Electricity is from 7pm until midnight. I stayed in the room outside the main building which is nothing much but I took a glance at the rooms in the main building and it looks great.
This hotel provides the best surrounding view in Timor Leste. You can see the cloudes below you in the morning. Beautiful! The restaurant is simple and nice with some classic touch to it. This is a great place to chill out and get away from stress.

24 hours electricity, hot water bath, water boiler with tea and coffee, tv, drinking water dispenser, air-con, room service, laundry and breakfast.
This place is run by a family. They stay just behind the motel, sharing the same plot of land as the motel. The couple is very friendly and happy to meet my request to wash the laundry at 7pm and to get them ready by 8am the next day because I need to leave early. I paid USD20 for 2 person in a room.
Timor Sands Motel is at a busy junction where mikrolet and taxi is abundant. You can park your bike or car in the motel itself. Water dispenser is available to all the guests.

ac+ usd$25 + breakfast + laundry + if you are very good with boss, get free beer and wine on the eve of your departure + security guard 24/hrs + TV with many channels + international guests + garden with turtles and fish + quiet + near shops and stadium
On Atauro Island, the village of Tua Koin is seen by many as a model for the future of the tourism industry in Timor, and its growing success is just one example of how sustainability is being re-integrated into the East Timorese way of life.
Tua Koin though, was specifically built for tourists. Visitors stay in thatched huts right beside a white, sandy beach, and there’s an open communal dining room where the local people cook meals for their guests.
Is an eco-village. Everything is so environmentally friendly.
(I have more info on the eco-village in the section under activities.)

Audain Hotel is run by Malaysians and Singaporeans. It has been around for quite some time (few years at least) and it was there where Singaporeans and Malaysians ran to when there was a riot few years ago.
The rooms are all air-conditioned with TV and hot shower. The rooms are comfortable. There is a hotel restaurant too. I like the steamboat dinner served at night.

Although one of the more expensive places to stay in Dili, the scenery is priceless.
Small with under 20 rooms, central swimming pool, and large open plan restaurant/ reception
All rooms aircon and ensuite
worth the money for short term stay or respite in Dili
great view of Pantai Kelapa and Auturo Island
Fabulous food and atmosphere in the restaurant- good place for 'time-out' in Dili

Q: Travel Planning from Dili, Timor Leste to Christchurch, New Zealand "I am going to be in Dili, Timor Leste in March. I'm wondering what travel route is best and cheapest from Dili to Christchurch,..."
A: "The other choice rather than Air North through Darwin is Singapore airlines who do a regular flight Dili/Singapore. I haven't looked up their current timetable however..."
