This is a relatively popular guest house so book early if you want a room here. We stayed here 4 nights in a twin ensuite, which was relatively spacious and bright. Surprisingly, the guesthouse provides a daily cleaning service, where the bathroom and tiled floor is cleaned, and the beds made.
Unfortunately the maid tends to leave the window ajar (to air out the room, I s'pose), so we came back one night to find a cockroach on the window ledge. Fortunately, it crawled out again soon after.
The bathroom is unfortunately not very roomy and a llittle dark. Water gets all over the place when you shower, but fortunately the heavy sliding door keeps the water in.
If I am not wrong, this is a residential building, so it has a security gate, to which the security code will be given to you when you check in. There is also a security guard stationed near the entrance. The room you are given may not be on the same level as the guesthouse reception.
The ladies at the reception are friendly and able to converse in English. They can also arrange day trips to various attractions, like HK Disneyland or Ocean Park. You can leave your luggage with them if you check out at noon but will only leave for the airport later in the afternoon.
Alisan is conveniently located - it is 5 minutes away from the Noon Day Gun, there are eateries, shops, large departmental stores and convenience stores along the street and its surroundings, and the subway and city tram is just a couple of minutes' walk away. On the other hand, since it is tucked away at the end of Cannon Street, you can still enjoy some peace and quiet and will not be disturbed by street noises. (However, you will be able to hear the distant boom of the Noon Day Gun.)
Also, a minutes' walk away is a bus stop where one can catch airport express bus A11 to the HKIA.
