New and Clean!

by TripAdvisor Member chaneybear

Since the hotel is new, the rooms are very clean and nice. The shower was pleasant to use because the pressure and the hot water were easy to use. We had our rooms made up every day by hanging the sign on the door and the housekeeping service was very good. Complimentary supplies, like drinking water, shampoo, lotion etc. were replenished everyday. Staff was courteous and prompt. There's fast and free internet use in the lobby where two laptops are placed. You can only use it standing up though since no chairs are provided. Location is very good. Lots of nearby restaurants and shops. Very near MTR exits, 5 mins. walk only. The closest one is Exit A2. The big malls nearby are quite far to walk to though.

There are only three things I disliked about the hotel.

First, is that the lobby is too small and there are only a few chairs in it. There is no lobby bathroom too. You have to go the 5th floor and ask the front desk to accompany you so you can use the bathroom. This is important because if your rooms are not yet available (e.g. you arrive before check-in at 2pm or you don't immediately leave upon check-out time at 12:00 noon because of your flight schedule), and you need to use the bathroom, it is very inconvenient to use the one on the 5th floor. A horrible experience we had upon check-in was that there were poo stains on the 5th floor toilet. Yuck. We used it again after check-out though and it was already clean.

Second, the bathrooms are see-through because of the glass design. Everything you do in the bathroom can be seen by those in the bedroom.

Third, the rooms are not sound-proof. You can hear the other bedroom doors open and close and the noise from the street at night. At night, the street is very noisy because of the bars nearby but early in the morning the street is already quiet.

All in all, it was a pleasant 3 nights stay and I would return to this hotel if I go back to HK. I hope they can maintain its cleanliness and newness.

Clean comfortable rooms complimented with good location.

We reached this hotel via Airport Shuttle Bus Transfer K3 service , dropping opposite park hotel. The Butterfly On Prat hotel is just a street away from Park Hotel.

Ours is a party of 5 staying for a total of 4 nights. We had booked a superior and a deluxe room. Arriving at the hotel at 12pm, we managed to check in immediately and the reception also upgraded the superior room to a deluxe in order for our rooms to be next to each other. No connecting door though.

The hotel porter was prompt in bringing up our luggage and they also stored our . Everyone was polite and greeted us in English/Cantonese in the morning. Room size was fair for 2 occupants, and the toilet is a generous size with a hot clean shower.

Rooms were serviced and towels were changed daily. We are able to hear our neighbours if they talk loudly enough though. Internet connection in the room is chargable. There is an lcd tv , microwave, and travel kettle in the room, accompanied with complimentary coffee and tea sachets, and mineral water bottles.

There were no restaurants or much facilities, except for a 24hrs gym room (I have not seen it), 24hr reception, and 2 laptops with high-speed internet connection at the lobby on a standing booth. This would be a 3-star hotel at it's best. You can enjoy a comfortable rest at night after all the shopping around TST and HK Island.

Nice New Hotel

by TripAdvisor Member lws1515

Stayed at the property 8 nights with two rooms. The rooms are very nice, clean with a great bathroom and plenty of storage space. The front desk staff was very helpful, friendly and professional. The housekeeping staff was good but didnt always replace amenities. We used the computers in the lobby so didnt access wifi in rooms. The location was great but loud at night (all night) with the clubs just below. Ask for a room in the back if that is a problem. Since it is so near the Hotel Guang Dong- it is easy to get a taxi. It is also a few blocks from the metro and also close to the ferries. There are plenty of places to eat within walking distance. We had breakfast everyday at the corner cafe TST.

A real gem in the heart of Kowloon

by TripAdvisor Member MandN2009

We stayed at the hotel for 4 nights. The staff were excellent, very helpful at all times, spoke good english and always provided service with a smile.

Our room was very stylish with excellent facilities. It was incredibly clean and had all the amenities you could want!

The hotel is in an excellent location on the Kowloon side of Hong Kong but is a few minutes walk to Tsim Sha Tsui tube/subway and a bout a ten minute walk to the avenue of the stars.

Perfect Boutique in city of mega hotels

Spent three nights at the Butterflly and ccan't recommend it highly enough. Wonderful, creative rooms and excellent location for shopping. Had exceptional customer service and the rates were incredible for Hong Kong. I will recommend to all my friends and stay there again!

thumbs up!

It was our 1st time in Hongkong and it really was a memorable one. Be sure when you go out of the hotel you have with you its map coz taxi drivers are not familiar with the place and they hardly speak English. We had a very good time staying in this hotel. It is very clean, the lift is colorful, the room is cozy with a flat tv, ref and more importantly it has a microwave. We had with us some packed food so we just heat it in the microwave and that saved us a lot of money. Their toilet, that's what they call it in Hongkong, is with a transparent glass (recommended for honeymooners). In case you want to leave some valuable items in the room there is an available vault inside.
Its location is near East Tsim Sha Tsui MTR Station and in front of the hotel is a Chinese restaurant which I may say serves good chinese food. 7-11 is also nearby for your other needs. There is also a foreign exchange at the lobby in case you run out of Hk dollars and they also have available umbrellas just in case it rains. The hotel is also very near Nathan Rd. You can find signature items along Nathan.
I have no regrets staying in this hotel. Not only because of its clean rooms, good location but also because of its honest staff. Why honest? They found a valuable item inside our room after we checked out and immediately inform us through emai that the item was found. What a relief!
So if you're looking for a hotel that has a 5 star service why not consider BUTTERFLY ON PRAT!

Great location

Tucked away just off Nathan Road, a great location. Reception is a bit small, but rooms are lovely and spacious by Hong Kong standards. Trendy colours and lights make it a bit different.

Decent hotel

by TripAdvisor Member Frozz

We stayed here for 3 nights and booked the room through Asiatravel. The location is pretty good although the taxi drivers are still not familiar with it because it does not have an equivalent chinese name. As one reviewer advised, mention Guangdong Hotel, Butterfly is just directly opposite. As we arrived late at night, we took a taxi from the airport which costs us HKD250.
We stayed at the deluxe room as we needed to accommodate a rollaway for my daughter. Bedding was fairly comfortable but with a rollaway, there is not much room to walkabout. The bathrom was quite big though with a very good shower head. I think after complaints about the lack of privacy of the bathrooms, they have now covered the see-through windows and installed a blind in the bathroom.
The hotel is still fairly new so everything is still pretty much spick and span. Hotel staff were courteous and helpful in providing information and directions. The reception area is pretty small, not that it mattered much.
The only grouches we had were some renovation/upgrading works in front of the hotel and no one actually helped us with our luggage when we checked in. We had to tow 2 luggages and 2 sleeping children on our own.
Oh, one thing I nearly forgot to mention, our booking came with free room high speed internet usage which was useful to us.

Well located, value for money, friendly staff.

Located in a small side street that weould not feature in house and garden, this hotel comes as a plesant suprise. A true botique hotel of 18 floors, only double rooms and the smallest lobby I have encountered. The rooms are quite small but are well designed and equipped, having fridge, microwave, LCD TV/DVD player and the softest pillows that I have had in China - quite a luxury. The bathroom was modern with a good pressure of hot water in the shower. Staying on the 17th floor there was no street noise. I requested a non smoking room on a non smoking floor and was very happy that there was no smell of cigarette smoke in either the passageway or room. Only 100m to the MTR and 50m to a 7/11 store in the same streert. Room cleaning was excellent, the daily complimentary water a positive and there was always someone on duty that not only spoke, but understood English. At AUD$100 per night I believed it to be great value having stayed in many other hotels in Kowloon in the past, at much higher rates that offered poorer facilities. I will most deffinately stay at the Butterfly on my next visit to HK

great location, clean and nice hotel with helpful staff

by TripAdvisor Member -gelow77-

The hotel lobby is vibrant and it makes you feel happy the moment you step foot in there. Colourful lobby :) The staff are very helpful & nice.

One particular staff who is commendable would be Andy. He was so helpful and went out of the way to assist us. On our last day there, we wanted to make our way to the shuttle bus to take the airport express to the Airport. Andy suggested that my friends and I (4 of us) could take a cab to the Airport instead, as it would be easier for us since we were carrying so many luggages. Andy (who is a porter) bargained for a cheaper rate for us (HKD250) in which the Manager of the hotel said (in cantonese) that it would not be possible to get, he didn't know that we understand cantonese. -.-

Anyway, Andy managed to get that rate for us and we're really happy about it. On loading our luggages onto the car boot, he even reminded us time and time again not to leave our luggages unattended and remember to take our stuff when we're getting off. A very nice and helpful dude, I felt so touched to receive such good hospitality from him and look forward to staying in Butterfly on Prat again!

Other than that, the location was great. Even at 11.30pm, the street was crowded with people and it's really right smack in the middle of TST, very accessible.

The only thing about the hotel is what everyone has been talking about - the transparent glass door of the toilet. Hence I feel that this hotel would be more suitable for couples instead of family. :)
