Affordable hotel
A simple no frills hotel, cheap and clean
in walking distance of the markets and close to the subway.

We stayed at the Caritas...
We stayed at the Caritas Bianchi Lodge, which I booked via the internet (you get a 50% discount). We stayed here for two nights. No luxuary, but quiet and cheap. The location was great. Near the Kowloon chinese marketplaces and near the centre of Kowloon.
Room Type: Twin / Double, Double, Non-Smoking, with Breakfast
Rate: HKD 410.00 per night (plus 10.00% tax/service)
Unique Quality: It's relatively cheap.
At the corner of a quiet street.
In the centre of Kowloon.
The breakfest is served at the 6th floor and is pretty good.

has anyone tried this place and more............
Hi there.
I've been looking around the web and fell over this place:Caritas Bianchi Lodge.
It's got some good write ups, I'd just like to hear if any of the regulars on here know of it.
2 nd. question, are there any internet hotel booking sites to steer clear of?
I'm a bit worried about paying for a room through a third party.
3 rd. and last question (for now) Is there amuch of a price difference in budget accomodation between HK and Macau?

Don't know that one but my parents stayed at Caritas Oswald Cheung House & were very pleased with it.
You might still find OK deals in Macau, places like the Sintra and the New Century- there are so many hotels there now, it ought to be more competitive. If you haven't booked it ahead of time, the travel agencies in the ferry terminal in HK can help you- think we use South China Travel.
