by siva61

My family and me consisting of 4 adults and a 7 year old son am travelling to hongkong during June 2006 first week can anyone tell me if they have service apartments on daily rent like other location worlwide.and if so the addresses. Can you also provide details of Indian Vegetarian Restaurants if any.

Indian Vegetarian restaurant: the only one I know for sure is Woodlands at 61 Mody Road, Tsim Sha Tsui East. I walk by this place every morning when I go to work and can see the chefs chopping veggies and onions. I have been there once (but just to see people, not eating), and there are lots of Indian people around lunch time so I assume it's not too bad. There are several others (but not sure if they are vegetarian) located at Chung Hing House, 36-44 Nathan Road in Tsim Sha Tsui. Check them out and see if they are to your liking. By the way, you will also see lots of people whispering "Rolexes" when you walk around Chung Hing House, and of course, those are fake watches.

Service apartment: I am not too familiar with those, but assuming you are here as a tourist, perhaps you can stay in the New World which is around Tsim Sha Tsui as well so it's convenient. The website is:

Keep in mind I don't know if they offer a daily rate.

Belwo is the W Studios, close to Lan Kwai Fong but maybe too party-ish for a kid:

The Metropolitan hotel in Hung Hom should offer competitive rate as well so you may want to check them out.

Travel Tips for Hong Kong

Grand Richly ripp off

by itchyfeettraveler

Hong Kong is a great place for shopping if your careful, but beware....the biggest ripp offs for electrical goods in the world happen in Hong Kong. Many people get ripped off every day, especially on Nathan road. You can get real bargains in Hong Kong, but as they say in the lonely planet...dont buy it unless it has a price ticket. Beware in particular of the Grand richly shop and the av city shop on Nathan road. If you stay clear of these kind of places ...you will have a great shopping trip in Hong Kong. The harbour views...awsome...some of the best views of skyscrapers in the world.

Spent your money wisely.

Most people I know come to Hong Kong to shop. Yet, I find some of the products are not at their best quality. Nevertheless, they are bargain. And make sure you save extra money for dimsum, afterwards. Sampling dimsum is a must in Hong Kong. My fondest memory of Hong Kong was to be re-acquainted with my friend Antonio after so many years.
