Cheap and Clean
Although the room is small, but its very clean and cheap. In the room, they provide air condition, TV and a private toilet. The location of the hostel is quite conveneint for shop and transportation near to MRT station.(by walking distance) The hostel also could provide van or teksi to international airport. Of course, you can get thier help to buy The Disneyland and Ocean Park ticket. Besides, the hostel won the best value award for Aug 08.

Budget price in Mong Kok
The 36 rooms hostel offer a small but clean room with good service. Also the location which just a small walk distant from MTR underground 's very good. Room rate come from 200-500 HKD. For my trip, I stayed in 5 pax room (2 double bed and 1 single bunk bed) with air-con, very tiny bathroom and hot shower, TV and telephone.
Note that Sincere House have 2 entrances and there're so many hostels within this buildings. For this hostel, take an elevator to floor 7 and follow a sign "Dragon Hostel'.

Great location in the heart of HongKong
This place is brilliant. Located in Mongkok, Kowloon, this hostel is on the 7th floor of an apartment building. Stanley and his family make you feel very welcome and couldn't be more helpful.
The rooms are for only 1 or 2 people, and unless you pay more, you are not likely have a window! The hostel has bought many apartments in the building, and partitioned off rooms and showers per apartment. Apart from not having daylight, the place is good. Free WiFi access in the reception, 2 computers with free internet access, laundry washing facilty (pay them and they will wash, dry and return your clothes within a day). Each of the apartments have their own communal fridge and a microwave i think.
There are no proper kitchens as you would get in a normal hostel. Apparently, Hong Kong people tend not to have kitchens and instead dine out all the time, taking advantage of the cheap food and vast choice of restaurants.
This hostel is more like a set of mini rooms inside apartments in a 13/14 storey building, so you wont get much of a communal feeling to the place- apartments are scattered among different floors. its good for what it is though- ultra clean, cheerful, and well kept in general, i will definitely stay there again given the opportunity. its unfortunate though that you can feel very anonymous there at times.

Dragon Hostel- perfect service and location
The hostel is located at Agryl Street which is the centre of Mong Kok. Its location is exactly in between Ladies Market and Fa Yuen Street. The hostel is one of the unit in an old flat, run by a family. The room and shared bathroom are both simple but clean.
Unique Quality: Free internet surfing and water supply.
We spent 220HK for a double room.

Very clean, very safe, awesome location (right in the heart of Mongkok, close to MTR, great shopping till 2am at night, near all the good food, it's accessible beyond words), clean toilets, sheets are changed daily, great service! One of the best budget hostels i've ever stayed in!

A cosy and friendly place
Service : The staff in the hostel were very helpful and friendly when I stayed from the period 13-16 May 06.
Facilities : They have free interent services for their guest(in the common room). They do provide drinking water just incase you might need them.
Cleanliness : The place is generally very tidy and clean. We had no problems with the rooms. They do clear rubbish for you daily which I do not really expect this service in a hostel.
Security : The building has a security guard at the lift lobby and the lift in that building was installed with security cameras so security wise is not much of a problem
Unique Quality: The location of the hostel is excelent. Mongkok is a vibrant area of Hong Kong. It is more of a local shopping area and food is never a problem.

Hostel at Mongkok
It is at 7th Floor, Sincere House, Mongkok. Dragon Hostel has many partment units on both 6 & 7th floors. Every apartment consisting 5-6 rooms.
There are a labtop and a desktop with internet accessability for guest use. We could use as long as possible but limit to 20 minutes per person when someone is queuing. So, if you want to chat with your friends for hours, do it in the middle of the night! We are happy with the computers provided, as we could download and transfer our pictures from camera withour worries.
Security: Every apartment unit has a main gate and a wooden door (double lock) and another lock in your room beside that normal "key lock". It's sufficient, for us. There are "guards" at both entrance. The Fa Yuen St entrance opened 24 hours whereas the other entrance closes after 10pm. It's a good way to have tight security as well.
I saw many "ex" guests leave "THANK YOU" message to Stanley and family, thanking them for their help during stay. They are all helpful, giving you satisfacting answers and guide for your doubt. Giving you information about the bus, MTR etc. Besides, you could borrow some neccessity from they, i.e. hair blower, iron & iron board, plugs etc.
They do "sell" some food & drinks (e.g. Coke, mineral water) and you could order food (noodles, rice) from nearby restaurant through them. They also organise HK day tour with some reasonable price. Do check with them should you are interested.
There are microwave and refrigerator at each apartment unit common area for guest use. Landry service is provided, HKD 7 per lb. Drinking water, both hot and cold are boiled and kept properly in containers in common area, just bring your own container for refill.
Unique Quality: 1. Convenient. MTR Mongkok exit D2 just two streets away from hostel. It safes you from walking when you are tired traveling all day outside. I think most new traveller will travel with MTR, should there is a choice.
2. Convenient. Ladies Market is opposite hostel whereas Fa Yuen St shopping street is just around the corner! When we came back early from self -day-tour (say 7 or 8 pm), we could still go shopping at both Ladies Mkt and Fa Yuen St after shower and dinner. No wasting time :)
3. Convenient. There is a 7-Eleven across the street for your need. There are plenty of Cha-Chan-Teng restaurant around the building. Don't worry about meals.
4. Hostel is quiet and clean, though bedsheets were only changed every two days (i am not sure if we have to specially request for daily change). Anyway, it's still reasonable for us (my bedsheet at home changed only twice a month...).
5. There are TV & aircond in rooms, if don't you could watch your favourite programme at the common area at 7th flr office. There is a 29" (or bigger) TV.
6. They keep your luggage (short term) should you are away (checked-out) for few days. We went to Shen Zhen after 5 days stay in HK. That's what we do, so that we do not need to carry everything to Shen Zhen and come back again for flight.

Hello Kowloon!
The Dragon Hostel is located in crazy busy Mong Kok. It's a great place to stay since it's extremely affordable with a friendly staff.
At first it may be a bit hard to find amongst the madness on the street, but use the surrounding large neon signs as landmarks. Using the large center for the Gome center helps.
The Hostel is located 2 blocks away from exit D3 of the Mong Kok MTR station. It's an easy walk along Argyle street. Just look out for the million or so neon signs overhead! :)
The rooms at the Dragon Hostel are small and consits of a bed, a small TV and an A/C unit. The washrooms are communal and have no stand up showers. You must shower out of a bucket. While this may not be for everyone, for those of us who like to be thrifty...it will do.
The owner, Stanley Fan, is a really nice guy and is helpful when it comes to getting around. They can arrange for Visa's to Mainland China (Hong Kong s a special administrative zone of China but you stil need a Visa to viist past the New Territories) and Vietnam.
Unique Quality: Inexpensive, friendly staff and visitors.

Hotel and Dragon Hostel
Hi,
I will be coming over to Hong Kong from Macau by ferry on the 25th May 09 for a holiday and will be staying for 2 nights. Then going back to Macau on 27th May 09 to catch my flights.
I am trying to look for a hostel or hotel with a rate of not more than HKD 220per night around Tsim Sha Tsui and Mong Kok. I have read thru this forum and found out that Dragon Hostel seems to be cheap and clean.
1) Is there any other hostel or hotel which is clean and good location to MTR(rate not more than HKD220 per night)to recommend?
2) Does Dragon Hostel has lift when it is much easier for heavy luggage?
3) Does anyone has any photos of the outlook of the building and entrance?
4) How and which is the best and cheapest way to travel from the ferry terminal to Dragon Hostel?
5) Is Dragon Hostel safe? Location, especially coming back & going out at night? Like fire escape route available? Neighbourhood?
Thank you.
Re: Hotel and Dragon Hostel
hi,
i just come back from HK & Macau.
FYI, i can recommend u another hostel in your range and same floor with dragon hostel. It call Budget hostel hong kong. u can check out this link www.hkbudgethostel.com the owner is Mr. Jacky.
No worry u can reach the hostel using the lift, but dont u expect the lift is big and spacious(the lift just for 9 pax(not incl.luggage)) there have 2 lift in the building but goes by odd or even floor.(This building have to entrance to access, both entrance also can reach ur destination) So make sure u take the correct lift to u floor. The dragon hostel is in 7 floor.
You can take taxi to dragon hostel. I think is more convience, if u travel 2-4 person. The taxi fare just cost around HKD30-40 (note: they will charge 1 luggage bag for HKD5) so if u go for 2 luggage pls add HKD10 into ur taxi fare.
For my understanding HK got 2 ferry terminal. The tsim sha Tsui(china ferry terminal) is near to hostel dragon. The location for the hostel is very good. (near MTR, shopping, food area) all just a walking distance. No worry the place is very clowded with ppl, even is in nite time around 12am.
